CONTENTS
|
The course will address the artistic content of the discipline, which includes the analysis and practical study of both traditional and contemporary techniques, with a view to methodological experimentation aimed at acquiring skills and abilities in art education. The course will explore the historical and methodological aspects of painting, aiming to develop a high level of mastery of the operational tools for individual expression and teamwork. Direct experience with painting techniques and technologies related to the visual arts will be provided. The workshop will offer the opportunity to experiment with the language of painting while also exploring fields of study related to visual perception, the theory of form, and color. The course will ideally begin with an exploration of the importance of the sign gesture, the corporeality of painting, and chromatic symbolism, before moving on to a broader understanding of pictorial styles and languages understood as signs and symbols of communication in cultural, political, and social contexts.

TEACHING METHODOLOGIES
|
By its very nature, the laboratory discipline brings with it, in addition to experimentation with techniques and formal declinations, the characteristic of "practice." Indeed, the laboratory is a place of doing, and as such, it will foster awareness of the elaboration and development of the creative act, the artistic process, and the resulting mnemonic process. The course will be characterized by the Learning by Doing methodology, i.e., learning through doing. Laboratory experiences are planned in collaboration with the educational services of the museum system of the city of Naples and the Campania region.

COURSE PROGRAM
|
Beginning with the basic grammar of drawing and exploring the fundamental elements of artistic expression, such as point, line, and surface, the workshop will become a learning environment that adapts to the individual needs of each student. Indeed, one of the course's objectives is to create environments for discussion and experiential growth, based on the development of multiple and emotional intelligences, in an inclusive and shared vision. In light of new educational paradigms, the importance of interdisciplinarity, the transdisciplinarity of painting, and the need to develop creative aptitudes, relationships with others and with the learning environment will be stimulating, with a focus on team building, where team play will foster team games, team experience, and team wellbeing. The group will experience a series of training activities (playful, experiential, and wellness-based) aimed at acquiring skills through simulations that will include GBSs (Goal-Based Scenarios), i.e., professional objectives to be achieved by applying prior knowledge and functional skills, thus creating an ideal setting for learning new skills.
The study of painting and painting for teaching will also include an analysis of the pedagogical potential of the visual arts; research on contemporary expressions; and understanding and investigating the phenomenology of contemporary painting, also in connection with the specificities of the local artistic context. Outdoor learning activities will be organized, allowing students to immerse themselves in Naples' vibrant cultural life. The city's dynamism and social contrasts will stimulate them both in the development of creative projects and in their relationships with cultural and sector institutions, such as museums, galleries, collectors, and other organizations that can provide opportunities for cultural exploration and extracurricular learning for students.
The training for future art education experts also includes the development of reflections on current artistic practice through comparative analyses of various expressive and teaching trends. From cave painting to digital painting, students will also recognize the importance and effectiveness of artistic language as a form of cross-disciplinary dialogue and cultural mediation. The program is flexible and open to modifications to expand and strengthen the concept of interdisciplinarity with other courses, in accordance with the needs of the school and its educational planning. Individualized study plans are provided, in accordance with current legislation, with dispensation and compensatory tools for students with specific learning disabilities (DSA), SEN (Special Educational Needs), or with certified disabilities, subject to prior notification to the DSA and Disability Office.
